1. What are hospital financial assistance programs?

Hospitals and health systems have financial assistance programs that offer free or discounted care to patients based on their financial situation to help make care more affordable. We welcome you to use this tool to see if you qualify for financial assistance at your hospital and electronically submit a financial assistance application to them today. Once submitted, the hospital will get back to you with a determination or additional questions within 30-45 days.

2. Why should I apply for financial assistance at my hospital?

Because you may be able to save thousands of dollars on your hospital bills if you do. Hospital financial assistance programs offer significant discounts to patients based upon family size and financial situation, and even fully employed people with health insurance can qualify and should look into these programs.

3. What if I don’t see my hospital listed?

If your hospital is not listed, select “My Hospital Isn’t Listed…Yet!” to request it be added.

4. How long will it take my hospital to respond to my financial assistance application?

The hospital should mail you a determination letter within 45 days.

5. If my financial assistance application gets denied, what should I do?

If your application is denied, see your determination letter for the reason why. If you believe their reason is incorrect or invalid, there will be a contact number on that letter to reach out to file an appeal.

6. What if I don’t have all the documents they are requesting to be uploaded?

Please submit your application anyway. Not all documents listed may apply to your household, and if your application is missing any information or documents the hospital needs in order to determine if you qualify, the hospital will contact you directly for this information using your contact info provided in your application.

7. What happens to my application after I hit submit?

The completed application along with any supporting documents you may have uploaded are securely sent to the hospital you selected for processing.

8. What if it’s been 24hrs and I checked my SPAM and I still have not received the confirmation email?

Please email DebtDismissal@scriptsourcing.com letting them know you have not received your confirmation email.

9. Can my family member utilize this tool?

Yes, they will need your DebtDismissal employer code.

10. Can I call the hospital to follow up on my application?

Yes. Please allow 48 hours for the hospital to receive your completed application.
